The
Helmsley Rehabilitation Center is a project of the highest national importance. Its establishment is a significant milestone in the health map of the State of Israel in general, and the periphery in particular. The Center will offer accessible rehabilitation services to the residents of the North, bridge gaps and inequality, and lead a medical, social and economic revolution It will create approximately 550 new jobs, and be the leading teaching and training center for rehabilitation professions.
Helmsley Rehabilitation Center will create the difference between reliance and freedom, between nursing care and independence, desperation and great hope, and sometimes even between life and death.
The need – Lack of rehabilitation services
The population of the Galilee and the Golan Heights, approximately 1.4 million residents, suffer from a severe shortage of medical facilities and rehabilitation centers. Moreover, there are no pediatric (children and adolescents) rehabilitation services or experts in the Northern region of Israel. For Northern residents being injured in a road accident, falling, or becoming ill with a serious disease means an abrupt halt of their daily routine followed by the need to make grueling and continuous journeys to rehabilitation centers located hundreds of miles from their home. Unfortunately, many of them give up, and suffer from loss of function, disability and upheaval that impinges on the family fabric.

The Helmsley Rehabilitation Center of the North is a project of the highest national importance. It will create approximately 600 new jobs, and be the leading teaching and training center for rehabilitation professions.

Services
The 24,000 Sqm Center will include 162 inpatient beds in 5 departments: neurological, orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric, outpatient day-care in addition to cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.
The Center has been designed according to a unique “360° collaborative work environment” model, enabling a holistic framework of interdisciplinary teamwork and care. As part of this innovative approach, a comprehensive medical and rehabilitation solution will be provided in the inpatient department eliminating the need to move between different units, buildings and treatment areas.
Top-notch care professionals, advanced state-of-the-art equipment, spacious inpatient rooms and diverse treatment space will offer patients everything needed to regain functional, purposeful and meaningful lives. For additional training, recreation and well-being, the center will also offer a variety of outdoor rehabilitation equipment, comfortable and pleasant waiting as well as entertaining areas, green lawns, benches and paths.
Timeline
Construction of the Center will be completed in May 2024 and set in full operation by 2025.
